Awesome yellowtail. Negihama is great too.
It's not the classic americanized-sushi japanese restaurant. The menu is short but good enough. The chef makes the sushi and the rolls in a more traditional way, and it's really delicious. Event though the place is small and the ambiance solemn, yes I would recommend it.
We came here with our family to celebrate my husband and I's 7th year... the service was amazing! The sushi was to die for ..thank you for making this day so special and yummy!
Their sauces were good but the food was terrible. Nothing was fresh. Not the edamame, not the vegetables, not even the avocados. They was stale. The crab was dry and the rolls fell apart. The steak was cooked in places but raw in others. The waitress told me, "It's okay, it's cooked over here". I sent back my cali roll because I asked for no Masago (smelt eggs) but I got a few anyway. The sushi chef got mad as hell and had a fit. He picked off a few of the eggs he accidentally put on my roll and gave it back to me. He didn't even remake it. After all this, it somehow ended up being over $80. At this restaurant the customer isn't right. Nobody should eat here... EVER!!
If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Me and my husband went in yesterday, there was only one worker there who was the cook/waiter/counter it seemed weird but we went ahead. As we were waiting for our food, it seemed he couldn’t keep up making two meals at the same time so he decides to keep reheating our food in the microwave. Our meso soups were microwaveable and nothing at all was fresh. ON TOP of that he was coughing the entire time and as we were eating told us he was sick. Disgusting place, I hope this place gets shut down. Literally the worst dining experience I have ever had in my life.
The food here is absolutely delicious! The yellow tail sushi is amazing and the spicy tuna is one of my favorites. The owner is kind and funny and I loved the conversation I had with him. Definitely my new favorite place to go!
Tiny place, great food. Not fast but worth the wait.
Small place. Service was average at best. Had to ask for refills. If I’m gonna have average service then blow me away w the food! That didn’t Happen... we got calamari for appetizer. Not good at all. Sushi rolls for dinner. Falling apart. Average taste at best. Spent about $65 for two people. If you can pass on sushi while you’re in town I would.
As always best fish ever. Calamari tempura to kill for. Been coming here for years and the quality is always excellent..
Food was awesome! Sevice was great!!! The sushi chef was hilarious my kind of people 🤣
We arrived right around 7pm and this place filled up fast after that. Our sushi was fresh and delicious. The menu is limited but with enough to get what you want. Other options beside sushi too. They close at 830 with a limited menu starting at 730 so call to make sure or plan ahead to fit your party's meal needs. Worth the stop.
Great experience and very happy this place is still open. Very kind service and the food was beyond expectations! I highly recommend you try this local treasure.
Best sashimi!
I got the negihama and the Alaskan and it was awesome. Unlike other restaurants there is good amount of fish per rice. Prices are great in terms of sushi!
Excellent savory dishes. We stop & eat here each time we visit Sedona. A real treat!
When I arrived with my child to have a special treat, the owner (?) pointed rudely at a table and said "that is the only clean one." So we smiled and said "no problem" and sat down. Then I realized I forgot my phone in the car so I got up to go get it and told him I would be right back. He barked at me that he was closing soon and I said "well I just want to get my phone, do you want us to eat here - do you want us to come back?" He thought about it for way too long and said "fine, go get it but I close at 1:30." After I left I realized how much I did not want to be a patron of such a rude person and deal with his negative energy while trying to have a nice "date" with my 10 year old - so decided not to return - ever. Too bad because we just moved to the neighborhood and would have been frequent customers as we love sushi.
This is a classy family run place that has remained consistantly good for 23 years. We enjoyed our meal, the ambiance, and the service very much tonight.
Disappointing. Limited sushi menu and it wasn't anything impressive. Bummer. We went and spent $100 on mediocre food - not a place for sushi...do not recommend.
Great food and friendly cook/owner!
Excellent Sushi. The best way to watch a sushi Master working, up close. Personal.
Our first time to eat on this restaurant. They said friendly service but the man there counter, cook , waiter etc.(one person ) was far from being friendly to us. I observe him w/ other customers he's ok w/ Japanese and white we were the only Filipino . Maybe friendly only to certain race. He was very rude that we lost our appetite .we asked that our food for to go. My husband was the only one who eat the food and he got sick, throw up for the rest of the night and had diarrhea for four days. We will not go back to that place.
Tasty sushi, good service
Ignore any bad reviews because they are absolutely Karen types of people. This place is delicious and authentic! I went only because it’s close to where I live. I’m kind of a picky eater so I was worried that I wouldn’t like it just based off of my own limited pallet, but both rolls my boyfriend and I split were HEAVENLY. We came for take out and the man working politely explained that it would be about 20min before he could get to our order and made pleasant and fun small talk in the meantime. I would highly recommend this place happily.
This little place is a treasure. Food is very good and very fresh.
First time I went here. The Chef was rude when I went to sit at the sushi bar. So I sat at a table.food was medocur. Second time I tried it. He complained because I parked with my trailer in the parking lot.... very Rude Chef. LoL
Their menu is tiny. Wow. Not kidding. The food was good and the staff nice. I especially liked that the California rolls have real crab in them.
Love the owners they’re so sweet, my friend and I came here all the time before the corona stuff so I can’t wait until I can come again. Nothing hits hard like a hot bowl of miso and fresh rice on a rainy day.
Best sushi, very fresh. Great owner if you give him a chance. He is funny!
Best sushi in town, what a great owner!
Absolutely delicious with amazing service and pricing!!!.. we will definitely be returning!
This is a small intimate restaurant that serves the best sushi in town.
We came into the city of Sedona for a day of fun filled adventures and sightseeing, come late evening around 6:00 we went looking for a sushi place, we have had some of the best and some of the worst sushi, but the sushi here at minami really three is for a loop, if I could say one thing, sushi lovers don’t come here, the salmon was bad, we had to spit it into a napkin, the colors of the fish were faded and dull, and the eel was slimy and undercooked, we decided to cut our losses and try tempura, not any better, we got over cooked tasteless sticks of veggies lightly coated in batter with a “dipping” sauce that tasted like water, and for all that costed us 100$, please take this review and use it, I look to reviews to find good places to eat, this is not one of them, it is a complete waste of money and time, do not come here.
Great sashimi! Great sushi! Don't go there if you want american sushi.
The food is less than mediocre at best, but because he's the only sushi restaurant in The Village of Oak Creek he's randomly busy; which is the only reason why we ever went there. Tonight was the final straw. We walked in a little after 8 which was apparently closing time. Having been in the service industry for 20 years I completely understand not wanting to take last minute patrons. HOWEVER, he literally gave me the "time out" symbol with his hands and told me to get out. Had he said, "I'm sorry, but we're closed," I would have understood. I will not be going there again and you shouldn't either. Being a grumpy old man isn't good for business. Closing on a Friday at 8 is rather ridiculous as well.
No fancy rolls, but excellent basic sushi. Yellowtail sashimi is wonderful. Small; sometimes slowish service, but just relax and enjoy.
Not that big of a sushi person my girlfriend wanted to go so we did. Its a nice little spot not to bad for prices and the food is really good id say the only down fall is they dont have a soda machine so they bring you a cup of ice and a can of soda but other than that we had a good time and enjoyed our meals
